At the river.....

This was Emma's first time on Jet Ski's...

Emma the caged animal

After a day at the zoo, Emma decided to try out the dog kennel to see what it felt like to live in a cage.

SWIMMING LESSONS

Emma did not like structured swim play AT ALL! SHe did not like being on her back and she never got over that part. (she is very sensitive to sunlight in her face) But by the last day she did let me have her away from my body. ( the first few days she clung to me) and she was kicking her feet and smiling!

A new side to Emma

So we had a class from the city today... called Jumping Jacks and Jills. Emma was shy!!!!!! There were probably 18 other kids her age and a little older in there. The first few things they did she knows like itsy bitsy spider, and chicken dance and she just stared at everyone. All of the other kids were participating in some way. she wouldn't do anything... she just stared!!! I bet the other parents thought she was slow. It's a good thing she is so advanced or I would have been scared too! Then we were walking around in circles, hopping, jumping and running. Emma just stood and stared at everyone and I went around with them hoping she would follow... Instead she starting bawling!!!
Yes, she did warm up at the end when we marched with our instruments she joined in and smiled. I hope next week it is better.
Tomorrow we start our Messy Muddy Toddlers class and maybe after today she will be warmed up for tomorrow!

Mmmmm strawberries.....

So the other day we came home from a walk and Emma noticed a red strawberry on my strawberry bush. It was ready to pick, so I picked it, washed it and gave it to her. She loved it. I turned around for less than a minute and she had walked over to my tomato plants and picked a rather samll tomato, but it looked similar to a strawberry. I watched the excitement on her face as she bit into it and then the sour look when it wasn't the sweet strawberry she expected! She is learning something new every day!

Emma knows who is in charge!!!

So this morning I was making pumpkin bread (Mmmmm!) When out of no where I hear Emma running,.... YES Running from one end of our living room and then back and forth with the dogs right on her heals. Of course, she is giggling and laughing and saying No, No, NO! with the dogs right behind her. Well, as it turns out she had a partially eaten banana in her hands and she was playing keep away from the dogs. She is such a tease! She knew they wanted it, and she wasn't going to let them get it. As she is now taller then them this is possible. Being Emma's Mommy is such a joy!

Gardening with Emma

Santa Ana Zoo

We went to the Santa Ana Zoo with Emma back in March. She loved seeing all of the animals... except for the parrot! For some reason the parrot's sqauwk scared her. This zoo was the perfect size for her and it is a lot nicer than it used to be.

These are the cows and there were horses and ponies as well.

We are feeding the goats
We are watching the turtles, the ducks and some birds.

PInk Teddy Bears and Pink Pigs!

Emma is just such a great little girl ... and it is such a joy to be her Mommy! We were just sitting on the rocking chair in her room getting ready for her nap. I was reading books to her and she was picking the books to read like always. Well after the third book she reached down to where her pink teddy bear is, I grabbed him and she hugged him to her... then she reached down for her pig, I grabbed the pig and gave the pig to her, this whole time she is hugging the bear still. She hugged the pig for a minute then gave the pig to me to cuddle, I cuddled the pig, then she gave the Bear to me as well. So I decide to give the pig back to her, turns out she didn't want the pig, she took the bear back instead!
She is a very sweet girl and loves to play with others and share. But I am also soooo glad that she has her own opinions and knows what she likes! I wouldn't be one to raise a pushover....
